Our go free® equipment, methods and technology allow for environmentally friendly and sustainable production:
- go free® has a lower carbon footprint. Our estimated footprint is about 50% of comparable deep-fried products.
- go free® uses and disposes of significantly less oil than traditional deep-frying methods. In fact, when producing 141 pounds of potato chips, go free® uses 40 pounds less oil than used when producing the same amount of deep-fried chips.
- go free® methods and equipment don’t need as much energy as deep frying requires to make potato chips.
- go free®’s cooking methods allow oil to be applied at an ambient temperature to the chips and for this oil to be cooked only once. This removes much of the potential carcinogens that are part of deep frying. (Fried chips, on the other hand, are cooked in oil that is continuously heated at super high temperatures and reused several times.)
